707–Allocation of Health Insurance

POLICY:  707

ADOPTED:  April 2006

707      ALLOCATION OF HEALTH INSURANCE

I. PURPOSE

The purpose of this policy is to establish procedures for the allocation of Health Insurance revenues to support NWSC Programs and Services.

II. GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY

It is the policy of this agency to establish a procedure that provides for NWSC Board approval of the use of Health Insurance revenues to support NWSC programs and services subject to, but not restricted by the recommendations of the Superintendent Advisory Council (SAC) and the Governmental Advisory Council (GAC).

III. PROCEDURES

All Health Insurance revenues are automatically deposited in the respective Health Insurance Pool Fund for the Schools and City, County, other Government Agencies.  Any transfer of these revenues for use to support programs and or services other than health insurance related expenditures must first be reviewed by the respective SAC or GAC Advisory Councils, and then formally approved by the NWSC Board of Directors using the recommendations of the Advisory Councils as a guide.

Note:  The use of the Health Insurance Pool revenues on a limited basis to support the specific programs and services of the NWSC is an important part of our mission to be a regional leadership partner with Schools, Cities, Counties and other Governmental Agencies, and to plan and provide innovative programs and quality services that maximize resources.
