424–Responsibility to Report Possible Misuse of Public Funds

424      RESPONSIBILITY TO REPORT POSSIBLE MISUSE OF PUBLIC FUNDS

 

I. PURPOSE

Due to availability of funds and recourses by public employees and officers, any discovered evidence should be reported to the authorities.

 

II. GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY

  1. Employees of the NWSC are required under Minnesota statue to submit any discovery of evidence regarding theft, embezzlement, unlawful use of public funds or property, or misuse of public funds by any board/commission or person authorized to expend public funds.
  2. The reporting should be prompt and submitted to law enforcement or the state auditor. The report should be in written form and detail the alleged incident or incidents.
