Storybook Pandemic

Liz Husebye Hartmann

On a quest to score
Tylenol and more
Fear the unmasked ones

Kit bag, credit card
Journeywoman’s boots laced hard
Sword strapped ‘cross my back

No fierce dragon roared
Chalice granted, sheathed my sword
Walgreens granted boon

I would, duty meet
Kneel, and lay them on her feet
Alas! Quarantine

Masked ones guard her door
Cell phone requests: this, not more
Hoard by proxy, served

(Because we’ve all been charged to do ordinary things in these extraordinary times)
