Australia & Oceania

What is Australian food? Or Oceanian food? I really don’t know, if it was not for the Internet, I may have added kangaroo to my list, which, I assume, is not the most accessible ingredient for most people reading this.

Even searching online yields only Australian and New Zealand dishes, but there must be more than that – all the islands, only dots, on a world map. Each must be different, and I wonder how affected they are by the global agricultural situation. To learn from them may open up our knowledge circle.

The Oceanian region is often overlooked – seen as the other Western, white region that just cannot compete with North America and Europe. While I do not know it myself, they have a culture that is embedded in conjunction, yet separate from the workings of the typical Western world – and hopefully, it involves the beach and surfing.
