Rain then Thunder by Rebecca Lynn
It came down in a rush
To wash the earth
With a furious flow
From the heavens
Resounds
A thunderous blow
No gale
Nor flash
Betold the tale
Of the onslaught
The wave
The waters once held
Now loosed
Upon us
Seeping into the cracked
Dry dirt
The roots
Quenched
Relieved
Of thirst
