Every day I pause
to see that gigantic house
where you once did dwell.
Maybe I’ll see you
peer through the window at me.
Or out gardening.
That Kenwood estate
I have seen, like on the show –
in every season.
1969
They filmed that house, for the show.
42 years, now.
On Nicollet Mall,
A statue of You; of Bronze –
throwing hat; frozen.
Standing, mid-sidewalk,
Near-sighted people
Whack into it every day.
It’s Not our Mary.
