Appendix 2 – Online Resources from the Minnesota Historical Society
Here are two useful resources from the Minnesota Historical Society. The first link, “Minnesota History Research Topic Resouces” provides access to a list of potential research topic areas related to Minnesota history. Over 275 topics are sorted into 25 subject areas. Each topic includes a short overview, a list of secondary and primary sources associated with the topic and available through the historical society. It is a great place to start when looking for a research topic.
The second resource is a list of feature articles from MNOpedia – an encyclopedia of Minnesota history. As you know, our textbook includes hundreds of links to individual MNOpedia articles that provide an opportunity to learn more about the people, places, and events introduced in our text. In addition, the encyclopedia has over two dozen feature articles – longer articles that cover larger topics or themes from the state’s past. Links to those articles can be found below.
