Introduction
Why We Do IPEDS
All institutions eligible for Title IV funding (e.g., Pell Grants and Stafford Loans) are required to complete the IPEDS surveys.
Why This is Important
Reasons why our IPEDS data is important:
- There is a growing trend in education to make decisions based on evidence. Your data could affect funding decisions.
- Your IPEDS data is publicly available.
Since our IPEDS data can affect funding decisions and is publicly available, we should try to be as accurate as possible. That said, we do acknowledge that there is usually not one right answer. Some of the IPEDS instructions are open to interpretation and of course, libraries collections and services differ a great deal.
