The West Side Writers Group created this Anthology with three goals in mind:
1) To provide members of the group a forum to publicly share their writing. We hope you enjoy the diversity of genres and forms included in this collection. We certainly enjoyed creating them. The writing group as a whole and the creation of this project has energized all of our writing. Thank you to the St. Paul Riverview Library Branch for hosting us and a special thanks to Librarian Isaac Mielke for facilitating the group.
2) To provide a learning opportunity regarding self-publishing for the members of the group, and in particular, in using the tools provided to all Minnesotans by the Minnesota Library Publishing Project. The members of the group are very appreciative of the resources provided by Minnesota libraries for this purpose. Each member was encouraged to design and load their own contributions into the system. The hope is that every member now has the knowledge to create their own self-published publication.
3) To promote the group to gain new members. We meet every Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 in the basement of the St Paul Riverview Library branch located at 1 George Street in St Paul. We encourage anyone interested in writing to attend, present their work, review other group member’s writing and hopefully be a part of the 2026 Anthology. The group has enjoyed reviewing writing of all genres, forms and skill levels. We just want to make each other’s writing better. Please come and join us.
