Genealogical journal for Norway. Norsk Slektshistorisk Forening (NSF), or The Norwegian Genealogical Society is Norway’s oldest national genealogical association. It was founded in 1926. Membership extends throughout Norway and abroad. The Society’s purpose is to publish articles and other literature that may increase the knowledge of Norwegian family history and genealogy. It has published the most renowned articles on Norwegian genealogy in more than 14,000 pages of in the Society’s periodical, “Norsk Slektshistorisk Tidsskrift.” Members receive annually two issues of Norsk Slektshistorisk Tidsskrift, as well as two issues of the «member’s magazine, “Genealogen.” The Norwegian Genealogical Society also runs a library in Oslo where it houses Society’s large collection of genealogical (family) books and ‘bygdebøker’ (farm and family histories/rural chronicles).
