East Asia

I have spent most of my life, thus far, living in East Asia. I have eaten insects, chicken feet and raw eggs, just to name a few unusual things. The Chinese and Japanese foods I have grown up eating has shaped what I cook on a daily basis.

It begins from the incredible Japanese TV programs! There is a special term called shoku-repo (食レポ), literally translated as food reporting in Japan where everyone who appears on TV must be able to over-exaggerate their facial expressions, describe using eloquent words and really, really enjoy eating. This is the food culture I grew up in.

And this is what I wish everyone will get a chance to experience, understand and immerse themselves in. To change our food system, we must first build a love for food.
