The Invisible Artist

Riley Simon

The invisible artist named Ronnie lived in downtown New York City. He is a 16 year old kid that went to Eagle High. He was a graffiti artist that wanted to spread positivity around town. On May 15, 2009, he picked a random spot in town to put graffiti on. So that night he set an alarm for 11 pm so he could sneak out and do his graffiti.

He woke up, got on all black clothes and a ski mask. Then he got his bag ready. He quietly snuck out and jumped on his bike to ride downtown. He found this old run down building, and he spray painted the word LOVE in pink, red and blue. It was surprisingly easy. He used spray paint that he bought at the hardware store that afternoon. Ronnie was a natural artist, and he easily was able to design and paint the word. It was bubble letters and he felt proud.

When he was done, he biked back home. He got back home at 1:54 am. When he got home, he changed and got ready to go back to bed. Not long later, he woke up and got ready to go to school.

When he got to school, he heard people talking about his graffiti, but they didn’t think much of it yet and they didn’t know it was done by Ronnie. He got done with school that day and started thinking about what he was going to do next. He thought that positivity was a good word to paint.

At 6:13 pm he took a shower and got ready for bed. He set his alarm for 11 pm once again. He got up and put on his all black again with his ski mask. He biked to some random $1 pizza place in New York City. He wrote on the side of the building POSITIVITY in neon pink and neon green. He got done at 2:01 am This time it took him longer because he made it bigger.

After he got done, Ronnie biked home. A cop stopped him and asked why he was out so late. He lied to the cop and said he just got done with his work at a pizza place.

The cop said, “Well, hurry up and get home kid. School starts in a couple of hours.”

Ronnie hustled home and arrived at 2:37 am. He changed into his pajamas and went to bed.

When he got up that morning and his graffiti was on the news and they said they didn’t know who it was so they called him The Invisible Artist. Ronnie felt scared because he didn’t want to get caught, but he also felt proud because people were noticing his artwork.

Then he went to school and everyone was talking about how cool the graffiti looked. He kept hearing about it all day. He got home and started thinking about what’s next. He was trying to figure out what would be his best word yet. He was thinking about it and decided that he was going to write BE YOU.

Ronnie got ready for bed and set his alarm clock for 11 pm. His alarm clock started going off and he got up really excited to do his graffiti, but he got so excited he forgot to put his all black clothes on. He biked downtown and he found an older pizza hut that he was going to paint his art on. He started painting on the wall and it looked like it would be his best yet. It was yellow and blue and it was like a cartoon. He included yellow lightning bolts. Ronnie finished at 1:49 am and then biked back home. No one saw him on his way home. When he got home, he went right to bed.

He woke up the next morning and saw his face on the news. Because the pizza Hut Ronnie graffitied had security cameras, they were able to see him in action. Even though everyone would now know who The Invisible Artist was, Ronnie still decided to go to school.

When he got to school a bunch of his friends asked him about it. When he got to his first hour class he got called down to the office. He felt nervous as he walked downstairs. The principal brought him in and asked him to spray paint Eagle High on the side of the school. They liked his graffiti art so much that they wanted him to spray paint a mural on the school.

Being the natural artist he was, Ronnie did it easily and they were pleased with his art. Then several of the local businesses asked him to paint murals on their buildings too. Then he became one of the most successful graffiti artists, but Ronnie was no longer invisible.
