The Christmas Concert Breakdown!

Gabe Clark

In my artistic opinion, the best song that we sang in our Christmas concert was “Deck the Halls.” It was in two part harmony! What a nice challenge! We got to sing the “Fa la la la la la la la” part. That was fun. And the second graders sang the melody part of the song. We sounded pretty fancy.

The next best thing about the Christmas concert was when we sang “I Do Believe In Christmas.” I think it has a catchy melody! Also, it told the story of the movie Santa Paws. I love it when music tells a story!

The next thing I liked was when we got to play Heads Up Seven Up in the band room while we were waiting for our turn to go on stage. It was fun because we had time to hang out and laugh off the jitters before going on stage.

I also liked our song “Where Are You Christmas?” That song has a lot of expression. It is also used in The Grinch movie. It was special.

I would have liked to have gotten to sing “Happy Christmas (War Is Over)” by John Lennon. It is a shame that John Lennon had to die so young. (Darn you, Mark David Chapman.) It was the last song of the night. You weren’t required to stay but you were invited to stay. It was where everyone came up on stage and sang if they stayed until fifth grade sang. I didn’t get to stay, but I guess it’s not that big of a deal.

I think the concert was fun. It got me excited for Christmas!
