My Favorite Aspects of Art

Sculpting: I think sculpting is very unique, and I think you have to be very creative and talented to be able to sculpt. When you are sculpting, the clay has to be wet so you can shape it! I’ve only sculpted once in my life, but I learned a bit about it! I thought it was very fun!
After you sculpt something, it takes a bit of time to dry, but after it dries you can paint it! If you like painting, it’s fun! Personally, my favorite part is painting the sculpture. Everything else is also fun, too, if you ask me!
Then after you paint your sculpture, you glaze it! The glaze makes it harder for the paint to come off, and it makes the sculpture look shiny. The glaze takes a while-to dry, but it’s worth it because it looks VERY SHINY!!!
When everything is finished you can put it wherever you want in your house for decor! I love to decorate my room with my art projects!
Watercolor Painting: Watercolor painting is another one of the arts. In my opinion, watercolor painting is one of the really FUN arts! First, you have to put some paint in a TINY bit of water, then mix. For me, I usually only use watercolor painting for the background, because otherwise if you want details, it might be hard.
There are not a lot of steps in watercolor painting, but if you want to layer the colors, you’ll have to wait for each layer to dry, and the more layers you do, the longer you have to wait. Oh, I just hate waiting! But while waiting for each layer to dry, you can do anything… cook, draw, watch your favorite show, go outside, ANYTHING.
But once the layers FINALLY dry, you can use normal paints for details. For example, if you are drawing a sunset, you can use normal paints over the dried watercolor paint to add a tree, birds, or even sunrays!
Using Oil Pastels: I don’t know as many things about oil pastels as sculpting or watercolor painting, but I still know a little bit! I know that you can DEFINITELY not erase oil pastels. They are not like regular crayons! Also, you can’t really mix the colors, because it’s like the other color never comes out of the oil pastel. But, I love to use oil pastels for shading or details.
I hate when oil pastels get dull, and I wish I had one of those sharpeners exactly for oil pastels. This is because when they get dull, it seems like they don’t write where you want them to. But, when it’s sharp it seems PERFECT!! And that’s pretty much all that I know about oil pastels (which is more than my teacher said SHE knows
Charcoal Pencils: In my opinion, using charcoal pencils is kind of hard because they smear VERY easily. It’s like using a Sharpie but harder (NOT sponsored lol). So I suggest Sharpies, but if you want to make shadows, or maybe shading, I recommend charcoal pencils.
It’s as if each art supply has their own certain usage! That is kind of cool, and it makes your drawing/painting unique! I think the more time and thought you put into it, the more unique and creative your artwork can be! You can also use charcoal pencils for outlining, but it is definitely harder than just using a Sharpie because Sharpies DEFINITELY don’t smear as much (still not sponsored).
Those are my favorite aspects of art! I hope it inspired you to try these things and get creative!
