Video Gaming and Communication
By Rhys Larsen
Communication in the world of gaming is important. A lot rides on having reliable equipment. This equipment is more than the latest gaming console or game though. Since gamers now compete worldwide and even gain social media (and celebrity) status, it’s important to be at your best. One of the pieces of equipment that helps is a microphone headset.
The microphone rests on the gamer’s headset and allows the gamers to play their game while they talk so they don’t have to hold it in their hands while they play. It transmits your voice through your microphone to the other person’s head set so they can listen to what you’re saying. Then they can respond. This makes the process of communication better.
The first headset was invented in 1910. Nathaniel Baldwin made it in his kitchen, but other people after him made other headsets that were even better. German Bayerdynamic invented headphones for home use and John C. Koss made headphones that were in stereo. It changed the future of communicating. The first microphone was invented in 1877 by Emile Berliner. Headsets and microphones can help people to communicate and speak to other people in the real world.
Today’s microphones and headsets have come a long way from the original ones invented more than 100 years ago. In most headsets used by gamers, there is a Bluetooth device so gamers can listen to other people and the game at the same time. It’s important that gamers can communicate and listen to their teammates.
Microphone headsets are important to gamers so they can communicate better. They have become important pieces of equipment to people around the world. From business settings to entertainment, these headsets are relied on and used, and in some cases considered a necessity. However, advances in technology will likely come up with something else to make these headsets even better, or maybe obsolete.
