The Quantum Correspondence
By Ruben Pena
Hi! I’m Corry and these are my friends Stella and Violet. I’m really smart and good with technology. I am also good at fighting because I’m smart with tactics. My friend Stella is really good with strategies too. Stella is also a great cook. Last, but not least, is my friend Violet. She’s great at math and is the smartest person I’ve ever met. Both of my friends are really cool.
The story starts like this: My friends and I were at my house. We were outside at midnight sleeping out on the grass. We were gazing up at the stars when all of a sudden we got shaken awake. We woke up to find ourselves surrounded by weird looking tall green creatures with black eyes and no noses. Then they gave us an injection and everything faded to black.
When I woke up, Stella and Violet were already awake. We were inside some sort of spacecraft. The walls and ceiling were made of a silvery metal. There were a lot of levels, screens and buttons on the walls. I heard Stella’s voice say, “You’re finally awake. Do you know where we are?”
I answered, “No, I don’t, but did you guys also see those weird looking things that were surrounding us?”
Suddenly, an alien walked in and started speaking.
I said, “What the heck is going on? How are you speaking?”
Then the alien said, “Do not fear humans. We come in need of help from you. We need your help to save our planet because it is being taken over by our arch enemies, the Zobline people from the planet Borg, and their evil king, Stabmoring. My name is coedndwwfedfve, or as known in your language as Jim.”
The alien, Jim, pleaded, “Please follow me if you are willing to help us. If not, we will just send you back to Earth where you were at, but we could really use your help.”
“Okay, let us talk about it,” we said. I quietly turned to Stella and Violet and whispered, “Okay you guys. I think we should help them because look at the way they were talking to us. They were talking really well-mannered and they were really nice and even offered to take us back home.”
“Okay,” the girls agreed.
We said, “Alright, we’ll do it. We’ll help save your planet. This is going to be the adventure of a lifetime!”
Jim said, “Alright, I’ll take you to the Armory.”
“Ok,” we said as Stella, Violet and I all looked at each other.
The alien said, “Ok Corry. Here is your sword. Also, drink this potion.”
I drank the strange liquid from the little glass. ‘’Woo. I feel so much stronger now,” I announced.
The alien affirmed. “That potion just improved your body’s physical capabilities like speed, strength and brain power. Now,” the alien continued, “Stella here are your weapons. You have daggers and blades that come out of your new clothes.”
“And Violet,” the alien said, “you have a trusty whip that acts on its own and protects you. Your weapons are four of the only things that can kill Stabmoring and his army. Now go train.”
I asked, “Jim, how is it that we can communicate with you?”
Jim said, “Back on my home planet, communication is one of the biggest things we research. We know 10,000 different languages and English is one of them so that’s how we can communicate.”
“Ok,” I said. “We’ll go train together. Let’s go train guys.” We walked to the training ground inside the spacecraft. “We’re here. Let’s get training!”
Three months later, after we were done training, Jim said, “Ok you guys, I think that’s enough training. You are ready.”
We walked to the ship, Valle, and the four of us teleported down to the alien’s home planet. It looked kind of like Earth, but much more barren. It had a gray atmosphere with orange colored sand that lined the hills. There were dome-shaped houses that the aliens lived in.
The Zobline people yelled, “Rahhhhhhh!!!! Die intruders!”
I quickly sliced a Zobline apart. Green goo oozed out of his torso. Stella cut up another one. Violet whipped four other Zobline people giving me a chance to cut up another.
I said, “Are you guys thinking what I’m thinking?”
Stella said, “Roger that.”
“Roger that,” Violet echoed.
I said, “Initiate plan Z.”
The girls said, “Ok.”
After two hours, everyone thought that was a good fight.
I said, “Alright, let’s head to the palace.”
We got there and went inside.
Stabmoring said, “I have been waiting for your arrival.”
He stood up and charged us. We all scattered. Stabmoring hit Stella and knocked her out and then hit Violet and knocked her out too and then hit me. I started to lose consciousness, but then Stabmoring turned his back and started to gloat. I used the last bit of my strength and cut Stabmoring’s head off. Then everything faded to black.
When the girls and I woke up we were hailed as heroes by the planet’s people. The aliens cheered, “Hip hip hooray! Our heroes have come and saved us.”
They had a feast in our honor and then we went home and acted like nothing happened because no one would have believed us anyway, and no one was the wiser.
