I Like Me
By Angelo Igiraneza Ganza
I like how I communicate with my feelings. I can cry when I’m sad. I can yell when I am mad. I can jump when I am happy. I can hug when I greet, say bye or comfort people. I like how I communicate with my voice. I can shout or shush, and I can sing. I like how I use my body parts. I can wink and blink. I can smile or laugh. I can nod or shake my head. I can make hand and arm gestures. I can shrug my shoulders. I can run and play with my friends. I do all this to communicate with people.
I like how I use words. I greet and say goodbye. I ask and answer questions. I tell jokes or stories. I share my school day or home life. I like how I communicate in different languages to speak with family members. I am still learning them, and it’s fun. I like how I communicate by writing notes to family and friends. I cheer them up. I wish them happy holidays. I show them how important they are to me.
I like me because I am unique. I do things my way to get people to know how I am doing, what I am doing, when, where and why I do things. I like me. I like my communication!
