Chain of Trains

By Jia-Xin Fan

You only need one person for a train to start moving,

Whatever else it picks up, it sure does leave a bruising.

You can hear the muffled voices start to bundle,

Until it starts sounding like a wild jungle.

The voices move like wind,

You can see the faces of where it’s coming from turn into a grin.

You only need one more person for a train to start picking up

     its pace,

And it does not stop, until it reaches its resting place.

No matter if it is a false alarm,

A train won’t take a break until there’s a swarm of harm.

You may warn others that what they’ve heard isn’t true,

But they most certainly will not believe you.

It bounces off walls, passing halls,

Until you start feeling like your about to fall.

It’s only when you hear the laughter and snorts of a bypassing

     train,

That you know your own is starting to drain.

It slows into a stop,

Until it eventually drops.

The passengers leave the train,

And resume to their own lane.

You only need one other person for a new train to form,

Looking towards them in pity, knowing you’ve been through it

     before.
