Selfless

By Nevaeh Hauck

Growing up not society standard put a lot more amount of pressure on

My mind what wasn’t even fully grown

All the ideas flowing in on how I could approve my nose, my hair

Anything that wasn’t viewed as perfect had to go.

My reflection never got better, I tried covering up mirrors

Just so I didn’t have to look at myself, my pitiful self.

I never knew a sense of well being

I’ve never been confident, I have never gotten used to it.
