Sun and Moon

Avianna Xiong

Starry silent skies

Reflect off your eyes

And drip, drip, drip like the dipping of the ivory moon.

It bobs in the dark velvety abyss lowering

Into rippling specks of blue and red.

They spill and spread like bloody fires until eventually

the blazing sun of gold and lilac rises through the sea of black,

Turning the silence of the sea

into a crashing tsunami.

As the world sets ablaze into the day of a lively morning,

Your eye is a mirror that reflects the oncoming silvery quiet.

Like a cat it stalks through the day.

It’s but a mere whisper camouflaged by the chatters of sons

that will tear through the flickering light.
