The Friendship That Melted My Heart

by Adrianna Ziegelmann

Victor, the day you walked into my life you made it so much better

I have so many things things to say so that’s why I’m writing this letter

When I first saw you I thought that we’d never talk or interact

But now look at where we’re at because we’ll always have each others back

Everyday when I saw you, you made me smile

But now I won’t see you for awhile

When you said you were moving away it made my heart break

Even though that happened I always cherish the special memories we made

All the times we’ve laughed and smiled

I enjoyed your stay for the while

You act like a big brother and protect me

I can tell you anything and everything because you’re very trustworthy

You’re always that one friend that has a special place in everyone’s heart

What we’ve created as friends is a work of art

You’re the flame to my soul

When I’m with you I feel like I’m all warm and cozy at home

You made the dark storms turn into a crisp & clear blue skies

I felt your arms embrace me when I wanted to cry

This may sound cliche to say

But you always knew how to make my day

You see me for who I am and don’t judge

Ever since we found each other we’ve been side by side and never budged

Some may say we’re a little crazy and loud

And that’s how we express our love out loud with sound

But there’s times where all we have to do is look each other in the eye

Within that silence we know the other’s thoughts and reply

You know every little detail about me and I know every little thing about you

Deep secrets and hidden details have been told

We keep them close and promise not to tell even as we grow old

I look at your face and know that I’ve arrived home

I have that feeling of safety and security and know everything is perfect with the best friend I can call my own

No matter what happens we’ll always be friends

Through thick and thin through the very end

So please remember this and never forget

When you come back my heart will once again be lit
