Introduction
Peer Advice on Succeeding in LDRS 614
Graduate Students of the LDRS614 - Change Leadership Course 2017
This booklet contains narratives written by students completing LDRS-614-Change Leadership. In this class, students study leadership theories, analyze leadership case studies and work collaboratively on leadership projects. Through these instructional activities, students acquire and hone communication skills, self-awareness, personal development and organizational branding. Students also learn to embrace responsibilities to followers and vested stakeholders.
In this assignment, students were tasked to create a pathway to success for future students enrolled in change leadership. The narratives developed contain perspectives on key aspects of the learning journey, obstacles encountered and overcome and lessons learned.
Reflection is at the heart of authentic learning and through these reflections; students document the lived experience and connect to future learners through the sharing of these experiences. These reflections document that students can apply the knowledge gained in classroom experiences to self-awareness and academic growth. They incidentally also learn to “celebrate words on paper”!
