Introduction: Using This Book
This book has three sections:
1. Solfège Practice
2. Sight-Singing Practice
3. Rhythm Practice
Musicians should practice exercises from all three sections at the same time rather than going through the book in order. The solfège and sight-singing exercises are related in the scale degrees and keys. For example, exercises 9-16 in Solfège Practice will use the same scale degrees and key centers as exercises 9-16 in Sight-Singing Practice.
Musicians eventually will work well beyond the exercises available here (especially in solfège and sight-singing), but these exercises are provided to focus on mastery of the fundamentals before advancing further in study.
